In these tumultuous, rapidly changing times, it feels essential to check within, to question everything that we hear, see and sense, to question what we believe and how much of it is true. What is showing up or repeating from the past that propels us into the present and future? Are we merely reacting or making empowering choices?

Yes, on a large scale, everything is connected. But, depending upon our perspectives, what seems obviously related, distantly related, absurd or totally unrelated?

I like combining objects that at first, may seem to lack continuity but evoke curiosity and questions, with open ended answers. This is what I'm after as I connect items that have a variety of materials, textures, finishes and colors, especially from different eras. Some I alter by painting, cutting and sanding, others I leave as found. When someone recognizes a piece in one of my sculptures, there are small a-has and shifts in interpretation, which can be very much fun.
