Artist Statement

Living at high altitude in the rural Rocky Mountains has instilled in me a certain power of place, an incorporation of the wildness, beauty, significance of the elements and the vastness of high alpine terrain. These external factors shape my work, but just as influential are the landscapes of internal spaces, the locations of inner viewing.

I am interested in observing the relationships between inner & outer realms of consciousness, the interface between the physical & spiritual, where insights begin & in the wisdom that emerges. Often, my pieces depict energy & motion, sensed & made visible. My intention is to empower the viewer, opening avenues to increasing intuition & awareness, revealing shapes, colors & symbols experienced along inward journeys. Horses represent teachers, messengers & travelers on such pathways.
